Whether you recently moved to a new part of the city or changed jobs and need to find the right place to sneak out during your lunch hour. We created this site to make it easier to make fitness a part of your life. If getting to the gym is half the battle, then FiTMAPPED is your new weapon.
FiTMAPPED is a directory of fitness studios and gyms designed to make it easier to find the right fitness studio or gym to fit your goals, schedule, budget and in the a location that is convenient for you. Currently live in New York and Los Angeles, our directory includes all studios big or small, zen-like or hardcore, pricey or on the cheap. From nearby studios you never knew existed to the trendiest new gym across town, FiTMAPPED makes it easy to explore the many fitness options available in your city. No excuses!
We hope that FiTMAPPED evolves into more than just a directory, but a community where fitness gurus and neophytes alike can exchange stories, make fitness social and seek advice.

Search
Use the Neighborhood map and list of fitness styles to quickly find something in your area. You can refine your search by location, price, ratings, fitness style to easily find exactly what you are looking for. If you know exactly what studio you are looking for, type it in the search box on the home page and viola!
Explore
When your search results come up, keep an open mind. Maybe when you selected cardio you did not think a hula-hooping studio would pop up, but hey, why not try it! FiTMAPPED makes suggestions based on your search results to make sure you have all of your options at your fingertips. Also, we keep an eye out for the latest fitness deals and new studio openings, so make sure to sign up for our newsletter to hear about it!

See something you think you might like? Book a class directly through the site or our iPhone app. Not all studios have booking through FiTMAPPED, but we are working on it! In the meantime, we provide you with the studio’s website and phone number (if available) to make it easier to connect with studios directly.
Rate & Review
If you loved that hula-hooping class, come back to the site and give props where they are due! FiTMAPPED will make suggestions based on what you like (or don't like). Alternatively, if you find a studio that needs a little constructive criticism, this is your sounding board to let them know how to improve. Also, your yoga class that was too slow or not athletic enough is someone else’s post-work time-out zen zone, so being honest doesn't mean you are fitness bashing –it just means that it wasn't right for you.

Anita Mirchandani
Co-Founder
Anita Mirchandani, M.S, R.D, C.D.N received a B.A. from NYU and a M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from NYU. After years of roller coaster weight fluctuations, Anita realized that change only happened through healthy habits everyday and by making wellness a lifestyle choice. This eventually became her passion, and she obtained certifications in spinning, kickboxing, and personal training. Realizing that exercise is futile without a healthy diet, Anita decided to go back to school to get a masters in nutrition. After finishing her studies and completing a dietetic internship at New York-Presbyterian hospital in 2011, Anita is now a practicing Registered Dietitian. Anita can be found offering nutrition advice to runners and athletes at local stores such as JackRabbit Sports, and when she isn't evaluating pitfalls of the latest diet fad, she is putting together the ultimate workout playlist.
Michelle Velasquez
Co-Founder
Michelle Velasquez received a B.A. from NYU and a J.D. magna cum laude from Seton Hall School of Law. Michelle has been a fitness enthusiast for more than 13 years. While her attorney colleagues were buying expensive heels and checking out trendy restaurants, Michelle was collecting sneakers and checking out the latest boutique fitness studios. Her ‘fit-scursions’ include hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and scuba diving all over the world, including becoming an advanced certified diver on the Great Barrier Reef. When Michelle is not on a crazy adventure, she can be found trying to challenge herself at various fitness studios in NYC - usually on the west side and always in the mornings.
Grant Schulte
Technology
As a designer, programmer, project manager, and tech guru, Grant has been creating and managing web experiences for 14 years. His mantra in life is that less is more. From this attitude he has developed a love for clean, simple, and intuitive design. Grant studied jazz and music compostion in college and considers himself a pizza connoisseur.

Q: How do I navigate the pricing??
A: The “pay per class” options are as follows (its an approximation, not a set formula) $ = 0-10, $$ = 11-20, $$$ = 21-30, $$$$ = 31-40, $$$$$ = 41-50.
For a “membership” only studio, the options are as follows (again, this is a rough estimate) $ = $50 or less, $$ = $75 or less, $$$ = $90 or less, $$$$ = $105 or less, $$$$$ = above $105
Q: What does “category” mean?
A: Category just means what the workout offers your body. Do you want a heart-pumping cardio-based workout? Do you want to gain strength in your workout? Are you looking to get a bit more flexible? These categories come from the suggested workout regimen of performing 2 strength, 2 cardio and 1 flexibility workout each week for a well-rounded fitness routine.
Q: If I select pay-per-class does that mean I can't buy a membership?
A: Pay-per-class just means that you can walk into the studio and try a class. It’s not a ‘member’s only’ concept. You could purchase a series of classes or a monthly membership to the studio should you choose. Membership reflects the bigger gym-like establishments where a day pass would be the only way to use the facilities.
Q: Do studios have to pay to be listed on the site?
A: No. We know that FiTMAPPED is only as good as its comprehensive database. Therefore, we list all studios and gyms big or small, free of charge.
Q: I heard of a studio that is not on FiTMAPPED, how do I add it?
A: Please click on “Studio Owners” tab at the bottom of the page, or email us at inquiry@fitmapped.com. We love to hear about new studios!
Q: I don't live in NYC or LA, are you coming to my city soon?
A: Yes! We are currently working behind the scenes and getting our database ready for multiple cites this fall. Look for us in Chicago and Boston very soon with more cities to come!
Q: What are some tips for writing a good review?
A: It would be great for you to include the following elements in a review as it would help others make decisions easily: Location (ease of access), Reception Staff, Changing Facilities, Studio layout/design, Instructor Feedback, Class Format/level, Value for Price, and how you heard about the establishment.
